Let's Bedazzle!

During this lovely holiday, Riley and myself have enjoyed teaming up with our level 64ish mages and decimating mobs. This duo, sometimes referred to as the Blizzard Brothers, made a recent discovery about the mechanics of equipment with jewel sockets. Really, the discovery was that the jewels one can place in these items are amazong. For instance, this author/Blizzard Brother has a nifty chestpiece that has +60 intellect on top of the base 18 int that the chestpiece has. Since this discovery, we have been seeking items with such capacity - Riley having more luck than I. Riley informed me of his latest acquisition, and that's where the impetus for this post comes from. That's right....I said impetus.

You see, Riley has gotten 3 items with the abillity to be bedazzled. A pair of pants, a set of gloves....and another set of the same gloves. Am I envious? Sure, a little. But I'm sure I'll find my share of these kind of items, in time. The reason for this post, the driving force, the.......impetus (if you will), is the manner by which Riley informed me of his second set of gloves. At about 11:15pm last night, I mentioned that I would be going to sleep, instead of staying up to run instances. At 1:18am, I got a text from Riley mentioning something about how drunk he was, and that his dungeon groups were 'starting to notice'. Shortly thereafter, the following text conversation began (mind you, I was trying to sleep. notice the times.):

If you can't read the text font, go here for the full size image.

After reading these texts at 4:30am, and literally laughing out loud, I coudn't go back to sleep. So here I am, it's 6:30am, and I'm writing this blog post. I just thought you guys might get a chuckle from this nonsense. So kudos to Riley and his drunken buffoonery. How can you not love the lil fella?

Observe Twothumbs wearing his newest gloves, seen here holding some sort of scrying device.

Blackrock Spire: UNSPIRED

Congrats to the team to take down our first raid(ish, since they changed it from a 10 man) for the guild! Travis tanked through the raw unleashed damage of the blizzard brothers, John and Riley. Canon was also there, furiously trying to figure out how to "dee pee ess" with his newly respecced warrior. Rob's healing was missed, but will be there for subsequent attempts I'm sure. Here's to more guild runs in the future going as smoothly!

Also, if you are involved in a particularly cool group, guild run, or quest, feel free to take a pic (or don't) and write it up on here! That's what this place is for!

Lil' Raggy for guild mascot!

Hey everyone! You're favorite contest you had no idea was going on JUST STARTED. I've decided we'll have a guild mascot - and the first person on the ballot is none other than the people's favorite; the incumbent LIL' RAGGY. With his auspicious gaze, his fiery temperment, and his hard-work ethic, you KNOW he'll get the job done. Vote Lil' Raggy!

Guild Bank!

I'm glad everyone is enjoying the guild bank! We're gonna try to do some serious cleanup this week, and as such, some ground rules need to be in place.

1. We don't talk about the guild bank.
2. Take whatever you need.
Seriously. We're like commies here. Do you need 40 iron ore to level up mining or blacksmithing? Do you need 60 Linen to level your first Aid? Go for it! All that we ask is that you don't take something purely to sell it; take it if you need it for bag space, leveling, professions, things like that.
3. Put in things...but not everything.
The guild bank has been a great success in part because everyone has been contributing, and that's fantastic. However, we don't need everything in the bank at once, because then it gets cluttered and Canon gets confused when looking for his precious ore. The simplest rule to think about before you put it in the bank is, "Can someone use this?". Keeping that in mind, I've come up with a list of good things to put in the bank.
  • Ore
  • Cloth
  • Green Items under Level 20
  • Gems
  • Blue Items
  • Herbs
  • Enchanting Materials
  • Leather (Not Scraps)
  • Potions
  • Churches
  • Really Small Rocks
  • A Duck
However, keep in mind, if you see 100 of something in the bank, don't put any more in. That way we won't have 400 Linen and 20 Silk. Just use it yourself, or put it in your personal bank until our stores go down. Now, here are some things you don't need to put into the guild bank.
  • Grey Items
  • Green Items above Level 20
  • White Equipment
  • Profession Specific Leveling Items (Blasting Powder, Jeweler Kits, Inks, Bolts of Cloth)
  • The Ark of the Covenant
As we advance in rank and wealth, we'll be adding more guild tabs to the bank, so soon we may have an enchanting/mining only tab, and so on. For now, just look and see where things are located and try to keep them in that general location. Thanks for reading my incredibly long post!
